Aam Aadmi Canteen: Kejriwal's new subsidy gimmick?

The Delhi government has taken inspiration from the Amma Canteen of Tamil Nadu to make subsidized meals available through an Aam Aadmi Canteen scheme. It will be implemented across the city with the main beneficiaries being the poor, who are also the party's primary votebank. It is aimed at the working class, including labourers, students and caregivers of patients in government hospitals. The price for a meal - breakfast, lunch and dinner - will be between Rs 5 and Rs 10.
