Oscar winning director Jonathan Demme dead at 73

Johnathan Demme, a director, producer and screenwriter who worked in Hollywood for over 40 years, has passed away from complications from cancer and heart disease. Demme won his fame by directing 'Silence of the Lambs' and 'Philadelphia,' back-to-back films that put him in an elite group of Hollywood directors. The last feature film that Demme directed was 'Ricki and the Flash' back in 2015, which has Meryl Streep portraying an aging rockstar.
