DMK faces protest over candidate selection ahead of Tamil Nadu polls

The DMK is facing protests from few of its supporters in Tirunelveli, Vellore and Pudukottai over the selection of candidates for the upcoming assembly elections. Clashes broke out between the protesters and supporters of incumbent MLA TPM Maideen Khan’s selection for the Palayankottai seat in the Nellai district. In Vellore district, a faction of party workers protested the selection of district secretary AP Nandakumar for the Anaikattu constituency. The selection of Satish for the Alangudi seat in Pudhukottai was also protested by party cadres.
