North Korea threatened to launch a nuclear war on the U.S. if it is attacked, according to statements delivered in Pyongyang last week. "The DPRK will react to a total war with an all-out war, a nuclear war with nuclear strikes of its own and surely win a victory in the death-defying struggle against the U.S. imperialists,” North Korean Foreign Ministry. A foreign ministry spokesman on behalf of North Korea accused the Trump administration of escalating tensions by bringing an American naval strike group off the Korean Peninsula. The USS Carl Vinson is set to arrive in the Sea of Japan, following a series of North Korean missile tests.
