Twitter suspended almost 377,000 accounts for pro-terrorism content

On Tuesday Twitter released its bi-annual transparency report, which reports on what Twitter has done to police its platform at the behest of the government and other legal entities. The report revealed that Twitter has suspended 376,890 accounts since the last report in September for posting "terrorism-related content." Only two percent of the accounts were suspended at the behest of the government, while 74 percent were found using "internal, proprietary spam-fighting tools." Though Twitter has been publishing transparency reports since 2012, this is the first time they have included their own efforts in the report, which they said will continue going forward.
