Mumbai batsman Suryakumar Yadav has been selected in the squad for the upcoming Vijay Hazare Trophy only after issuing an apology to the Mumbai Cricket Association's managing committee. Suryakumar was given a showcause notice after he retweeted a tweet by a senior journalist, who had questioned the batsman's exclusion from Mumbai's squad for the T20 Zonal League matches. It was the second time in one year that Suryakumar had expressed or supported views with regards to Mumbai's team selection on social media. While he was let off with a warning the first time, he was asked to tender a written apology this time around. Suryakumar had sent the letter which stated that this wont be repeated in future. After which president Ashish Shelar accepted the apology.
