The Louvre Museum in Paris reopened less than 24 hours after a machete-wielding attacker shouted "Allahu akbar!" and attacked French soldiers. The attacker, who has been identified as an Egyptian national, was shot four times after injuring a soldier guarding the premise. An Egyptian Interior Ministry official confirmed that the attacker is 28-year-old Egyptian-born Abdullah Reda Refaie al-Hamahmy. The assailant was held overnight at the hospital for his injuries, which are "no longer life-threatening."
