Tomato sheer is a mild curry made with coconut milk and tomatoes, as the name suggests. Simple and quick to make – it is delicious with rice but hot phulkas go well with it too. INGREDIENTS
1 large onion finely chopped 2 large tomato cut into 1” cubes ½ tsp turmeric powder 5 spicy green chillies slit ½ tsp chilli powder A pinch of asafetida 1 liter coconut milk 1 tbsp gram flour 1 tsp sugar Salt to taste
METHOD:
- In a vessel add the onions, green chillies, turmeric powder and ½ liter of water and boil for 5 minutes. - Add the tomatoes and the coconut milk and on a low flame stir the curry - Add the salt, sugar and the gram flour and stir continuously till the curry turns slightly thick - Serve this hot with steamed rice and kaap.
