More than 1K law professors oppose Sessions for attorney general

More than 1,000 law school professors sent the Senate Judiciary Committee a letter calling on them to reject Alabama Sen. Jeff Sessions for attorney general. The group of lawyers, comprised of 170 schools and 48 states, wrote, "not fairly enforce our nation's laws and promote justice and equality in the United States.'' "Nothing in Sen. Sessions' public life since 1986 has convinced us that he is a different man than the 39-year-old attorney who was deemed to racially insensitive to be a federal district court judge,'' the professors' letter states. The professors vocalized their concern regarding Sessions's take on civil rights, the LGBTQ community, and immigration.
