How to Catch Octopus by Hand

In this video I show you how you can catch an octopus safely, either by using a gaff or by hand. Octopus is a good bait and they are also good to eat.
Check out the underwater film of this Giant Pacific Octopus that we caught on our GoPro Hero 3 camera. We set up our GoPro Hero3 on the heavy duty halibut rod and sent it down to the bottom of the ocean, 200 feet deep. It was dark down there an in short time something was taking the bait. At first the hook seemed to be snagged on the bottom but then it came free. We were able to recover the GoPro camera and to our great surprise the giant octopus was filmed the whole time.
