The Houston Texas are out in the west coast in week one of the preseason as they battle the San Francisco 49ers in an NFL pro football game on Sunday.

Over Under Total: 36 ½ points

Notes: Houston was champions of the AFC South last year with a record of 9-7. They were only one game ahead of the Indianapolis Colts who played much of the season without Andrew Luck. They are ranked in the bottom half of the league on offense but were the third best defense in the league. Brock Osweiler was acquired in free agency and will start. Expect Osweiler to play a series or two. His backup is Brandon Weeden who enters his fifth season. Weeden has started 25 games in the league including one with the Texans and three with the Cowboys last season. Tom Savage enters his third year with the team and has saw mop up work in his rookie campaign during the regular season.

San Francisco was a last place team in the NFC West in 2015 with a record of 5-11. Chip Kelly makes his coaching debut with the team. Colin Kaepernick starts under center and is looking for better results than last year. Blaine Gabbert is the backup and has started 35 games in his five years in the league including eight starts last year. Jeff Driskel a rookie out of Louisiana Tech is in camp along with Thad Lewis who has bounced around the league in his six seasons in the league.
