Last week, tears flowed in a Kentucky courtroom as a jailed man met his one-month-old son for the first time, notes CBS News.
The father, James Roeder, has been incarcerated since May 20, the day he was taken into custody in connection to an alleged warehouse robbery.
In that time, he’s been forbidden contact with the mother of the child, Ashley Roeder, who is being tried for the same crime, reports WDRB.
According to the New York Daily News, both the momentary exception to the restriction and the visit with the infant were granted and arranged by Jefferson County’s Judge Amber Wolf.
The moment the family came together was filled with emotion, prompting the compassionate judge to pass out tissues.
Wolf later told WDRB, “I think it was -- not as a judge, but just as person -- it was probably one of the best things I’ve ever done.”
