Thai thugs brutally beat British family and good samaritan who tries to help them

HUA HIN, THAILAND — A family of three was severely beaten in Hua Hin on the eve of Songkran, the Thai New Year, in what one eyewitness claims was a deliberate attack.

CCTV footage released by police shows a couple and their adult son leaving a bar on April 13. A man suddenly pushes the son down, causing him to hit his head on the pavement.

The woman confronts her son's aggressor, and a heated argument ensues.

More people get involved, and the situation quickly escalates into violence. After the woman is pushed and struck on the face, the group is seen moving away from the foreigners.

But instead of leaving, one man weaves back into the crowd and starts brutally beating the older British man. When a good samaritan tries to stop the gang, he is beaten as well. One gang member clocks the woman and her son in the face, and both fall to floor.

When she tries to get up, a thug kicks her head hard in a display of truly shocking violence.

The men run away seconds later, leaving the family unconscious on the ground.

All three are still in the hospital, according to the eyewitness who tried to help them. The Daily Mirror reports that the man, known only by his online username Usual Suspect, wrote up a post detailing the incident on a forum. He claims to have been severely punched and kicked while trying to protect the woman, and would need cosmetic dental work done.

Police allegedly have two of the attackers in custody, and are looking for the others.
