Teacher's aid arrested for allegedly sleeping with 16-year-old student

BERWYN, PENNSYLVANIA — A teacher's aid at high school was arrested earlier this week after a student she was tutoring told police they'd been engaged in a sexual relationship over the course of a month.
According to the 16-year-old boy's statements to investigators during questioning, the study sessions turned sexual on March 17, after the two shared a kiss. From that point until April 17, he claims they had sexual intercourse on four different occasions without using protection.
The victim also told investigators that Towers urged him not to tell police of their secret dalliance. She reportedly resigned from her job and her roles coaching the girls soccer, basketball, track, and softball teams.
Towers is facing charges of institutional sex assault, endangering the welfare of children, and corruption of minors.
