Texas woman sleeps with her underage nephew 'hundreds of times' over two years

PASADENA, TEXAS — A Texas woman has been arrested for forcing herself onto her former nephew "hundreds of times" within the span of two years when he was just around 15 years old. The sexual assault charge has come eight years after the alleged assaults.
Peggy Phillips, 43, reportedly began sexually assaulting her nephew in 2007 soon after the teenager moved from South Carolina to live with his uncle, who was her husband, in Pasadena, Texas.
The teen's uncle told police that his nephew was coming from a "bad situation." But it appears the teen simply went from one bad situation to another after he moved in with his aunt and uncle.
Shortly after the boy moved in, he was hospitalized for an unknown reason. During the teen's hospital stay, Phillips allegedly crawled into his bed and sexually assaulted him, reported KHOU. Phillips then reportedly took advantage of her nephew hundreds of times following the hospital incident and is also accused of sending him inappropriate photos and text messages.
It's not clear why the story is just coming out now, eight years after the alleged assaults began. According to the Houston Chronicle, Phillips is now divorced from the teen's uncle.
