Ranch owner Jerry Johnson (Jerome Cowan) is behind the wheel of his sleek roadster when it plunges off a cliff and into a deep ravine. His foreman, Roy Rogers, retrieves the body and finds the sheriff waiting. WhenRoy proves that Johnson had been shot, he is arrested for murder. Roy manages to escape, and, with the help of his sidekick, Frog Millhouse (Smiley Burnette) and saddle pals, The Sons of the Pioneers, rides into action to uncover the real killer.
This is the edited-for-television version. In its uncut form, SILVER SPURS ran 68 minutes. It was trimmed in 1955-56 to fit a one-hour time slot for television showings. Many of the original film elements were used in the editing process and unused portions were simply discarded.
