One Roy's finest historical westerns finds former horse trader Roy Rogers and his saddle pal, "Gabby" Whittaker (George "Gabby" Hayes) fighting on the side of the Confederacy and stationed in Missouri during the Civil War. They're soon put on special assignment to capture or kill the vicious former Confederate officer-turned-guerilla leader, Val McBride (Stuart Hamblen) and has band of cut throats.
This is the edited-for-television version. In its uncut form, THE ARIZONA KID ran 61 minutes. It was trimmed in 1955-56 to fit a one-hour time slot for television showings. Many of the original film elements were used in the editing process and unused portions were simply discarded in the process..
