Në qytetin e Korçës është kremtuar masivisht festa e besimit te krishtere e njohur si Dita e Ujit te Bekuar.
Banorët pavarësisht besimit fetar e kane shfrytëzuar kete dite per t'u mbledhur e per t'u bere pjesë e riteve të ngjarjes se shënuar. Ceremonitë me rastin e 6 janarit, kanë filluar me celebrimin e një meshe të mbajtur në Katedralen e qytetit dhe më pas në prani të qindra qytetarëve është kryer riti i hedhjes së kryqit në ujë, që në qytetin e Korçës u bë në shatërvanin pranë lulishtes "Vangjush Mio" . Kryqi është gjetur këtë vit nga 19 vjeçari Marjus Vincani. Edhe ne Gjirokastër besimtaret e krishtere, kane festuar 6 Janarin, diten e "Ujit te Bekuar ", apo Diten e bekimit te Zotit. Bekimi i ujit eshte nje nga elementet kryesore te jetes, prandaj qindra besimtare pas ndjekjes se ceremonisë kane qëndruar ne radhe per te marre nje sasi uji, si simbol mbaresise per vitin e ri kalendarik. E kremtja e Pagëzimit të Zotit dhe Shpëtimtarit Jezu Krisht, për besimtarët durrsake është një ceremonive më të mëdha të kishës. Rituali i kësaj dite të shenjtë, si çdo vit, filloi herët në mëngjes në kishën e qytetit bregdetar nga ku besimtarët u nisen me kryqin në dorë për në portin e Durrësit vendi ku u krye edhe hedhja simbolike e kryqit. Këtë vit, kryqi është kapur nga 22-vjeçari Klajdi Beta, i cili i uroi të gjithë besimtarët e krishterë për festën. Sipas Biblës, kjo ditë përkon më mbrëmjen kur tre dijetarë panë në qiellin e Betlehemit në Jeruzalem, yllin që paralajmëronte lindjen e Jezu Krishtit.
