Komunitetet fetare ne Shqipëri mbështesin njëzëri vendimin e kishave katolike ne veri te vendit për te c`kisheruar personat qe vrasin për gjakmarrje. Përfaqësuesit e besimit musliman, qe zë edhe një pjese te konsiderueshme te banoreve te qytetit te Shkodres pohon se feja është një nga mënyrat me te mira për te frenuar këtë fenomen. Megjithatë ne islam nuk ka përjashtime ashtu si mund te bëhen ne fenë e krishtere, e për këtë arsye shfrytëzohen parimet e kuranit. Mbështetje për iniciativën vjen edhe nga Kisha Ortodokse Shqiptare. Ndërkohë drejtuesit e komitetit kombëtar te pajtimit, kërkojnë përfshirjen e priftërinjve ne grupet pajtuese qe shkojnë ne familjet qe janë ne gjak. Kjo është edhe mënyra se si ka funksionuar ndërhyrja e kishës ne vitet e hershme, kur shtetit njehsohej me këtë institucion. Sipas te dhënave te komitetit te pajtimit te gjaqeve, numërohen 1300 familje ne gjak, 700 fëmije, nga te cilët mbi 100 te rrezikuar si personat e pare mbi te cilët bie marrja e hakut nga hasmi. Vetëm për 9 muajt e pare te këtij viti numërohen 70 vrasje për marrje gjaku, dyfishi i shifrës se vitit te kaluar.
