Te gjitha analizat laboratorike ne QSUT tashme do te jene te përqendruara ne një godine te vetme, spitalin e ri te inauguruar pas pese viteve qe nga nisja e punimeve.
Ne përbërje te tij është departamenti i urgjencës për te gjithë spitalin, duke përfshire edhe 18 shtretër për trajtim ambulator. Spitali i ri ka 7 salla operacioni dhe aty janë përqendruar shërbimet e reumatologjisë, kardiokirurgjisë, kirurgjisë se përgjithshme dhe asaj plastike. Por pavarësisht këtij investimi modern, qeveria do te kërkoje ndihmën e shërbimit privat për te përballuar fluksin e nevojave te pacienteve. Kjo është faza e pare e projektit qe ka edhe katër te tilla, me një vlere mbi 16 milionë euro financuar nga Banka e Këshillit te Evropës për zhvillim dhe qeveria shqiptare. Ndërsa kryeministri Berisha vizitonte pavionet e spitalit ra ne sy dhoma e skanerit ku mes këtyre fotove ndodhej ne mur edhe fotografia e tij.
