Marcia Griffiths is one of greatest divas in reggae history: as a female artist at Studio One she produced some of the biggest singles in the labels history such as ‘Feel Like Jumping’, ‘Really Together’ and ‘Truly’. Her work on this legendary label was encapsulated in the magnificent album ‘At Studio One ‘.
In addition to an excellent solo career, she continued working in Jamaica alongside producers like Harry Johnson and Sonia Pottinger. Marcia also had the privilege of accompanying Bob Marley on his great artistic adventure as a member of the I-Threes, the trio backing vocalists that constituted a very important part in the sound of the Wailers. In the 1980s she became hugely success with the single ‘Electric Boogie’ and during reggaes digital era working with Donovan Germain.
Her show two years ago at the Festival demonstrated how fantastic her voice still sounds.
