A wedding in Kampung Berembang

Kampung Berembang once looked like a battle zone.
Bulldozers roared in the village. Villagers and activists stood unwaveringly in their last stand against the demolition of Kampung Berembang. Many fell to the ground, some crying in pain, there were those who fainted, and vomited from sheer exhaustion.
Three years later, Berembang is somewhat calmer. The villagers have rebuilt their homes and are moving on with their lives. The results of the March 8 general elections last year has given the settlers who remained in on the periphery of what used to be Kg Berembang to 'fight the good fight', a reprieve.
After the demolition, two weddings have also taken place in Kampung Berembang.
