A new report in the Washington Post reveals that the FBI spied on famed Colombian writer and Nobel Laureate Gabriel Garcia Marquez. The newspaper recently obtained declassified documents exposing how the FBI began to monitor the famous author between 1961 and 1985. It is unclear from the 157 entries what the motives for the surveillance could have been, but some analysts believe that it may have to do with founding role in the Cuban press agency Prensa Latina.
