India’s Government Sues Nestlé For $100M Over Maggi Noodles Incident

This week, India’s government levied a roughly $100 million dollar lawsuit against Nestlé over issues linked to Maggi Noodles.

In June, India banned the sale of Maggi Noodles, a 2-minute meal staple among many in the country, after numerous packages were found to contain unsafe levels of lead.
Testing also revealed that the noodles contained MSG even though the ingredient is not listed on the label.
This week, India’s government levied a roughly $100 million dollar lawsuit against Nestlé, company that produces the noodles.
The complaint accuses the Indian branch of the Swiss company of several types of wrongdoing.
