Police video of cops shooting mentally ill man to death in Dallas released on body cam

The family of a mentally ill Dallas man who was shot to death by police has finally obtained the officer's body cam footage of that incident.
On June 14th, 2014, Dallas police officers Andrew Hutchins and John Rogers responded to a call from Shirley Harrison, who wanted her mentally ill, 38-year-old son Jason to be taken to hospital.
But when officers saw Jason in his own doorway holding a screwdriver, they escalated from verbal orders to lethal force in only 6 seconds, and shot Jason 6 times.
Jason Harrison had bipolar disorder and schizophrenia, but his family couldn't get him permanently admitted to Parkland Hospital exactly because he was not a danger to himself or others.
Family members had called police to take Jason to hospital many times in the past, and didn't expect the officers to instantly resort to deadly force when they already knew Jason was mentally ill.
Jason Harrison' father, David Harrison, is suing the city of Dallas and officers Hutchins and Rogers for using excessive force.
