Ayotzinapa caravan holds protests in Washington DC

Six months after the forcible disapperance of 43 students from the Raul Isidro Burgos teacher training school at Ayotzinapa by the police of Iguala, Guerrero, their families and supporters continue their tour of the United States to garner support. They are asking the U.S. government to stop financing the Mexican military on the grounds that such funds exacerbate State violence and impunity in Mexico. The caravan expects to visit at least 40 U.S. cities. In Washington D.C. they have met with immigrant activists and some Congressmen. After a protest outside the State Department on Thursday, a vigil will be held outside the Mexican Embassy. Alexandra Hall reports from Washington for teleSUR.
