Russia and Ukraine meet in Brussels over gas dispute

The European Union (EU) is applying heavy pressure on Ukraine and Russia to resolve their gas dispute on Wednesday.Talks are under way in Brussels between the two countries to see if Ukraine can take care of its US$4.5 billion gas bill with Russian gas monopoly OAO Gazprom . If the two countries do not reach an agreement it could cause inhumane conditions to arise this winter due to gas shortages in the Ukraine and other parts of Europe. teleSUR
