In the midst of their dining experience patrons at a San Francisco restaurant became the audience of a teary speech given by an animal activist.

The person doing the talking is Kelly Atlas, a member of the rights group Direct Action Everywhere.

She entered the eatery and began telling a story about a little girl who was rescued.

The girl she was referring to is named Snow and is a chicken.

Atlas told the group of diners, “She has a very determined look in her eyes wherever she goes. And she was hurt and abused her entire life because of this establishment and establishments like it.”

It appears that some in the audience began to snicker, as Atlas addressed them specifically. She told them to stop smiling and laughing because there was nothing funny about her tale.

By the end of her address, Atlas was in tears and urged people to not eat ‘snow’s sisters’.

It’s unclear if her words had any impact on the diners, and the restaurant’s manager gave little comment on the matter.

A video of the speech was posted to YouTube and is well on its way to taking over the Internet.
