Magnum Photos member Patrick Zachmann has been projecting his deep interests in cultural identity and immigrants on his photographs. Now the esteemed photographer has come to Andong, Korea's spiritual origin and the mecca of tradition. What kind of stories would Patrick Zachmann, who has worked with immigrants for so long, find with people who have lived in one village for hundreds of years?
Hahoe Village is a 600-year-old clan-based community. People here live by the moral codes of Confucianism. Patrick Zachmann captures the entire process of a solemn and dignified memorial service at the main family home of the Ryu clan. See how the ceremony conveys Koreans' respect for their ancestors and filial love.
Seowon are traditional schools established by students to commemorate their teacher. Patrick Zachmann is invited to one of the seowon to observe a two-day memorial service. Follow Patrick as he explores how the students of a 16th-century scholar are still honoring his memory and teachings.
Patrick Zachmann hears the story of how a family disassembled a 500-year-old house to save the old home from being flooded and put them back together piece by piece over 40 years. He also meets a Korean-American bride and an American groom getting married in a Korean traditional wedding ceremony.

다양한 문화의 정체성과 이민자들에 대한 깊은 관심을 사진으로 표현해 온 매그넘 작가 패트릭 자크만. 그가 한국의 정신적 뿌리이자 전통의 메카로 불리는 안동을 찾았다. 고향을 떠나 떠도는 사람들에 대해 오랜 작업을 해온 자크만이 수 백 년 한 마을에서 뿌리를 지키며 살아가고 있는 사람들과의 조우는 어떤 모습으로 펼쳐질까.
600년 동안 씨족마을을 이루고 살아가고 있는 하회마을. 이곳에는 유교의 도덕규범을 삶의 지표로 삼고 살아가고 있는 사람들이 있다. 류씨 가문 종가댁의 특별한 제사가 벌어지던 날, 패트릭 자크만이 경건하고 엄숙한 제사의 전 과정을 카메라에 담았다. 부모와 조상에 대한 공경과 그러한 효의 절정이라는 한국인의 제사 현장이 공개된다.
한국에는 학식이 높은 스승을 추모하기 위해 제자들이 지은 학교, 서원이 있다. 패트릭 자크만이 1년에 두 번 있는 추모식 현장에 초대받았다. 마치 타임머신을 타고 온 듯 한 이틀간의 행사. 16세기 대학자를 추모하기 위한 제자들의 정성이 21세기 현재까지도 이어지고 있는 현장을 만나본다.
