Nigeria: Parents identify kidnapped girls from militants' video

Parents of the school girls being held by Islamist militants in Nigeria have been identifying their daughters from the video released by the Boko Haram rebel group.

The militants’ leader has offered to release them in exchange for prisoners held by the government.

Nigeria’s north-eastern Borno state governor has promised the girls will be returned and given counselling when they are back.

The government has now changed its stance and indicated it is willing to negotiate with the militants.

The worldwide outrage at the abduction of more than 200 girls has spurred it into action – deploying thousands of troops to help with the search.
