The son of a prominent businessman in Malaysia was found by his mother burnt to death on Saturday early morning in their house in Kuala Lumpur.

Brickfields district police chief ACP Azlee Abdullah confirmed the incident and said police have classified the case as sudden death, the Star Online reported.

The victim's mother saw smoke rising from the balcony when she woke up at around 4 am.

She forced open the locked iron grill to the balcony and found her son's remains on the floor.

Near the body were two cans of petrol and a cellphone.

The phone showed that the victim had sent a text message to a girl before dying saying "See you on the other side."

According to a source, the 20-year-old student had been depressed over his relationship with a girlfriend.
