Fire guts garment factory in Bangladesh

A fire swept through a garment factory in Savar, Bangladesh on Thursday (December 26) morning, damaging fabrics, clothes and machinery.

Local media said at least three people were injured from helping firefighters put out the blaze.

Police said the fire originated from the top floor of the six storey Japan-Bangla Garments Factory but the cause is unknown.

Officials said the fire was brought under control in one and a half hours and that no one was inside the factory at the time of the fire.

Local media reported that the extent of the losses have not yet been determined.
