Suicide fail in Tokyo: woman jumps out window, falls on man

A Japanese woman unintentionally cheated death when she allegedly jumped from a window on the ninth floor of a high-rise in Tokyo's Shizuku ward on Monday morning in an apparent suicide attempt only to land on an incredibly unlucky salaryman who was chatting with another office worker by a vending machine in the car park below.

A passerby called the police and both the man, aged 45, and woman were taken by ambulance to the hospital. The woman suffered broken bones in her lower back, while the male sustained a serious neck injury. Both are expected to live.
