"Insider Attack" kills at least one Afghan service member

At least one Afghani service member is killed after a gunfight broke out on the outskirts of Kabul.

Numerous injuries were also reported.

So-called "insider attacks" are severely straining ties between the NATO-led alliance and Kabul authorities.

It's one of the Taliban's insurgents' most effective tools against the coalition. Insurgents make their way in under the guise of Afghani soldiers, to kill their opponents.

Such attacks have been on the rise in recent months, with at least five reported since late September.
