Taliban attack US base in northern Afghanistan

There are more supply problems in store for NATO forces in Afghanistan following the multiple suicide bombing of a US base in the north of the country, which has led to the closure of the vital road between Jalalabad city and Torkham.

The Taliban has claimed responsibility for the attack, after which a gun battle raged and NATO deployed helicopters to beat off the attackers.
