Powerful quake near nuclear plant kills 32 in Iran, no reactor damage

Scenes of devastation in Iran after a 6.3 magnitude quake kills at least 32 people near the country's only nuclear power station.

Iranian officials said the plant itself was not damaged.

Iran sits on major fault lines and has suffered several devastating earthquakes in recent years.

More than 800 people were injured.

The quake came on National Nuclear Technology Day when Iran's leaders celebrate the technological advances they say will reduce the country's reliance on fossil fuels, leaving more of its abundant oil for export.
