Miners rescued in China

Three coal miners were rescued from a mine in southeast China on Monday (April 8) morning, state media reported, adding that three have died and another three are still missing.
CCTV said the three were trapped in the Yunda Coal Mine for three days, before they were rescued.
Official state-run news agency Xinhua said that the accident that occurred on Friday (April 5) was caused by a flooding in the mine.
Sha Xiangui, the local Weng'an County Committee of the Communist Party Secretary, said rescue operations would continue until the remaining three were found.
CCTV added that the three rescued miners have been hospitalized and remain in stable condition.
Xinhua said that eight people have been taken into police custody in connection with the ongoing investigation into the cause of the flooding.
