Two miners are pulled out alive from a coal mine in central China Friday morning.
Officials say a mass of rock that fragmented violently inside the shaft killed four miners... another 55 remain trapped.
Crowds applauded as the miners were lifted to safety... they were immediately transported to a local hospital for treatment.
Local media say a total of 75 miners were working in the pit when the accident occurred. Fourteen miners managed to escape.
The rock burst came moments after a 2.9 magnitude earthquake.
China's mines are the deadliest in the world, due to lax safety standards and a rush to feed demand from a robust economy.
