Swarms Of Jellyfish Take Over Balaclava Bay Near Ukrainian Black Sea

Swarms of jellyfish filled waters of the Balaclava bay near the Ukrainian Black Sea on Wednesday (January 2) covering the water’s surface with a thick layer of the creatures.
Many locals said they have never seen such a plague before and for some it has even disturbed their traditional hobbies
Fishermen who work at the piers were reportedly quite happy with the plague, because the sea bass which hunts jellyfish followed their prey to Balaclava bay.
Marine biologists were quoted by local media as saying the mass of jellyfish might arrive twice a year moved to the coast by the southern wind.
When the wind changes they expect the jellyfish will be chased off.
Masses of jellyfish arrived in the summer of 2012, spoiling the swimming season, but not nearly as many jellyfish as there are now.
