Women were among the protesters who turned out in Cairo to call for President Mohamed Mursi to resign.

The crowd scaled the walls outside the presidential palace determined to voice their anger over the direction the country is headed in. At one point, they pushed over two of the massive concrete blocks.

Many here say Mursi's constitution doesn't reflect Egypt's diversity.

SOUNDBITE: Female protester saying:

"I don't want him as president. He is taking away what is unique about Egypt. We are a multi-cultural and warm country."

Nearby, another more robust rally was underway --- this one in support of Mursi. Chanting and waving flags, they urged the president to remain steadfast in his plan to hold a referendum on the constitution this weekend.

The turmoil inside the country has some in Washington so concerned that the IMF has decided not to greenlight a 4.8 billion dollar loan Egypt desperately needs. The delay prompted the country's military chief to call talks to end the unrest .
