Man Shoots Intruder Who Turned Out to Be His Son - as part of the news series by GeoBeats.

One recent report turned out to be tragic for both the suspect and the man who took him down. Recently, a woman, all alone in a house on a quiet street in Connecticut heard the sounds of an intruder at 1 in the morning.

She quickly called her brother, Jeffrey Giuliano who lives next door. The brother, armed with a gun, confronted the black attired, ski-mask wearing suspect outside the home. The burglar appeared to be holding a weapon and moved towards Giuliano, so he reportedly fired the gun, killing the assailant.

Shortly afterwards, Giuliano who is an elementary school teacher, discovered that he had shot his own 15-year-old adopted son, Tyler.

An investigation is currently underway but thus far, no charges have been filed.

John Hodge, the First Selectman of New Fairfield states “The town is a close-knit community. It’s going to take us a while to get over.”
