German writer Ingo Schulze believes that democratic institutions are facing a profound threat as a result of the global financial crisis and the struggling euro. In his new book, «Unsere schönen neuen Kleider», Schulze takes on the overweening power of the market and the degeneration of politics, and calls on ordinary citizens to renew the struggle to preserve democratic rights.
