More flooding fears as tropical storm hits northern Philippines

Tropical storm Kai-Tak makes landfall in the northern Philippines, bringing torrential rains as the country struggles to recover from severe flooding last week.

The storm first hit the Philipines' rice-growing Isabela Province around midnight Tuesday, drowning two people.

Last week's floods killed 95 people and displaced hundreds of thousands more.

Some of the flooding has not yet subsided -- like here in the town of Calumpit, just north of Manila, where water still reaches more than three metres in some spots.

Disaster relief officials have advised local governments to evacuate those living in low-lying areas vulnerable to storm surges.
