Israel allows UN to build Gaza homes

Israel says it has given the United Nations permission to build 1,200 new homes in Gaza in a first step in housing Gaza's tens of thousands of displaced families.

The dwellings will aid communities whose homes were destroyed by Israel as long ago as 2003, and who have been living in makeshift housing. Now they are calling on the UN to do more.

Al Jazeera 's Nadim Baba reports from the town of Rafah.
