Car bomb kills three in Iraqi town

A car bomb killed at least three people and wounded many others in a busy morning market in an Iraqi town 60 miles south of Baghdad.

A local grocery store owner reported seeing a young man stop his car and get out seconds before the explosion.

The attack in the main Shi'ite Muslim Zubaidiya has many concerned about a return to widespread sectarian violence. It also comes a day after bombings killed at least 44 people at markets throughout the country and at a Shi'ite mosque.

Last month at least 237 people were killed and 603 wounded in attacks, mainly bombings, making June one of the bloodiest months in Iraq since U.S. troops withdrew last year.
