Lebanese soldiers arrest two in clashes
Gunfire echoed through Beirut, as clashes broke out between the Lebanese army and armed men.

Security forces said a group of gunmen fired hand grenades and rocket propelled grenades, injuring two soldiers.

Witnesses said Lebanese soldiers then cordoned off the area, and fired back at the men.

Security forces later arrested one Lebanese and a Syrian man.

Violence linked to the Syria conflict has spilled over into Lebanon in recent days.

In the northern Lebanese city of Tripoli, nine people were killed in clashes last week, triggered by the arrest of an anti-Assad activist.
