Anti-capitalists protest in Frankfurt

In the German financial capital of Frankfurt, thousands are protesting government plans to handle the euro debt crisis.

Shouting 'resistance,' they make their way through the streets. They are also furious about a ban on demonstrations.

SOUNDBITE: Demonstrator, Thomas Pfaff saying:

"I am demonstrating against European governments' euro debt crisis policies, because it threatens the economy of Europe, it threatens the social solidarity, it threatens democracy. This is one thing, we are demonstrating against. What is even worse, that during the last days democracy have been suspended in Frankfurt. That's a scandal."

The gathering of roughly 20,000 anti-capitalists comes at the end of four days of actions by the Occupy movement. In the air and on foot, police monitor the crowd.

One man offers this commentary on the value of a 50 euro note.

While the turnout was mostly peaceful, according to police --- they had extra riot teams on hand.
