A drumroll for a second day of anti-capitalist protests in Frankfurt.

Up to 20,000 people are expected to gather in Germany's financial capital to protest the handling of the European financial crisis - one of a number of Europe-wide rallies planned for June 1.

The protests coincide with fresh EU statistics showing that euro zone unemployment reached a new high of 12.2 percent in April.

Many called for leaders to change their policies.

"Social cooperation, real redistribution and no corruption of the banks; the whole system must be changed."

"I think it is very important to do something against the power of the banks because they must be regulated democratically and therefore you need the counter power to be on the streets."
