Former Russian spy enters politics

Former Russian spy Anna Chapman has joined the political ranks by becoming part of the youth wing of prime minister Vladimir Putin's party.

Her debut resembled something of a rock concert and her message was fit for a beauty contest.

Chapman and nine others were discovered as Russian spys in the United States this Summer, in what was the biggest spy scandal between the two countries since the cold war.

But whereas her colleagues have preferred to stay out of the limelight, Miss Chapman has revelled in the fame.
And now part of the Young Guard's public council some believe it is the first step in what she'd like to be a serious political career.

Al Jazeera's Stefanie Dekker reports.
