The head of a nuclear power company has been shot by an unidentified gunman in Italy.

Roberto Adinolfi, chief executive of Ansaldo Nucleare, was shot outside his house in Genoa.

The bullet fractured his right knee but he is not in serious condition.

Police are investigating whether anarchists were behind the attack.
